It's the end of the tourney as we know it.
| ... and I feel fine (well, as fine as someone with 4 total hours of sleep over the last 3 days can feel).
Six o'clock tv hou....
I hate that song.
I was going to go with a Doors song instead, but that was too gloomy. It wouldn't go with the feelings in the rink this weekend. This was GRRRRREAT (no, don't call me Tony).
Here is a wrapup of the afternoon on Sunday:
That Men's Platinum game I was talking about in my last writ ended in a tie, so the Cyclones were fit to be tied, missing out on the chance to play for the gold. AKS Mission 88's took it to the Militia for most of the game, until the Militia decided show what they could do, tying the game in the final minutes, and strutting their stuff in OT, stuffing one past the AKS netminder just over a minute in.
Daryn talked a bit about the Atom Final... BEST ATMOSPHERE OF THE WEEKEND!
Baja pulled out a huge victory over Pomona in the Men's Gold final. They won the award for best celebration after winning the gold medal. I thought the Stanley Cup was coming out after that one! =)
949 Anarchy was too tough for the Regulators, as they overpowered them in the Midget Gold Final, finishing it halfway through the 2nd half.
The High Country Mission Hawks may be the surprise of the tournament, sliding in as the #1 seed, winning their semifinal, and giving it to the Western Capitals Red in the Championship Game. There are 3 minutes left in that one, with the Hawks up 5-2... but the Capitals are on a 4 on 2 PP... hmmmmmmm that one should be over by the time I am finishing this blog.
Thanks so much to everyone that come out... players, coaches, refs, rink staff (they were GREAT!). I am really really really happy. Wow, and we just got a great complement from a mom talking about how we ran things. Cool!
Ok, that final was 5-3 Hawks.
See you next week in Buffalo!
