Langley Tournament Comes to an End
The final recap of the championship games...

As Sunday afternoon arrived, there was a whirlwind of activity in the Langley Sportsplex with Championship games being played on both rinks. Every 25 minutes, a new champion was being handed the trophy.

The Pee Wee Gold Final started it off with Eagleridge upsetting NS Zulu 6-2 on the Green Rink. Later, the NS Zulu A team would also leave with 2nd Place honors when they dropped the Pee Wee Platinum game 3-1 to the Island Grizzlies.

Starting things off on the Blue Rink was one and only Atom Final. Eagleridge coasted to an easy 10-3 victory over yet another NS Zulu team take home 2nd place.

In Mite action, the Mission WC Warriors White defeated the PG Reapers 5-2 for the Gold Championship while the Mission WC Warriors 97 took home a 9-2 victory over the NS Zulu A team in the Platinum Championship.

The Bantam Gold Championship saw the Mission WC Warriors 92 team pull out a hard fought 4-2 win over the Western Phantoms. Not to be outdone, the 91 Warriors team also picked up a 1st Place finish in the Platinum game defeating Eagleridge ORYX 5-2.

Squirt action saw Eagleridge upset the Mission WC Warriors Red team by a score of 5-2 in the Gold Final. Two hours later, the Mission WC Warriors 96 team beat the Northern Vipers for the Platinum Championship by a score of 6-3.

And the last division to finish up the tournament was the combined Midget / Sr Division. In the Gold game it was the Mt Hood Thunder defeating Team Molestation 8-4. The final game of the tournament was an all Tour HPC affair as the HPC 21 team beat the HPC 24 team by a score of 6-4.

That wraps up things from Langley. We’ll see you next weekend when NARCh, The World’s Greatest Roller Hockey, returns to the Pepsi Center in Amherst, NY, for the Buffalo Regional. Have a great week!
