Team Canada at the World Championships IIHF contains NARCH Alumni
French, Hammond and Conacher rostered with Team Canada

Canada announced the 15 players who will make up the National Men’s Team at the 2008 IIHF World Inline Hockey Championships, June 21-29, 2008 in Bratislava, Slovakia. Among them were NARCh alumni

D Kirk French – 1977 Langley, BC
F David Hammond – 198 Toronto, ON
F Cory Conacher – 1989 Burlington, ON

French, won the NARCh pro championship with The Mission Syndicate at Estero, Florida last year in the finals. A staple on defense, French has been a long time NARCh Pro supporter and player. Kirk has been at the NARCh finals for as long as I can remember.

David Hammond makes his first appearance at the World games. Hammond, who originally started with the York Triumph program has been to the NARCh finals and qualifiers for many years. David was competing with the Tour Mudcats this past Winternationals in Bethpage, New York.

Cory Conacher recently just competed at the Buffalo regional. Conacher was selected as a NARCh junior all star and showed his ability to dazzle on the floor. Conacher is also the cousin of former NHL'er from the Gretzky era, Pat Conacher.

The coach of Team Canada, Gerry St. Cyr is a long time NARCh alumnus and champion. St. Cyr won NARCh two years in a row with Team Rinkrat. Mike Hunt, his assistant coach also, has traveled the NARCh pro road with Rinkrat.

It's great to see players who are strong NARCh supporters and participants continue to use NARCh as the bridge to higher endeavors and competition.

Best of luck to Team Canada which makes it's first appearance at the World's in 10 years and must re earn it's way back to the A pool. Canada will be competing with Japan, New Zealand and Hungary.
