Viva Las Vegas Wrap up!
| We finish the last 2008 qualifier in the Sin City
Alot of excitement. Daryn made the trip and we all got to have a great time when we weren't working hard. At the Hard Rock hotel, the pool is incredible, not only that but I saw Dennis Quaid and his wife, Vinnie Paul (Former Pantera drummer) and today to top it all off, K Fed (Kevin Federline) he and his entourage were sitting right next to me poolside. It doesn't get much better than that, but it does!
Let's recap the weekend. Congrats to our mite teams the Las Vegas Outlaws and the Las Vegas Aces. The Outlaws defeated the Aces in a two game series with plenty of hard work and effort. Great to see the smiling faces of the mites as Nick Lutu presented them with their medals and their names came over the PA.
In our squirt/peewee division, the finals had the Las Vegas Tour Rebels match up with the home Aces. exciting game where the Aces goalie stood on his head literally to keep his team in the game. As we finished regulation with a stalemate, overtime brought plenty of chances for both sides. The Aces were whistled for roughing, and while the Rebels were trying to move the puck, it was intercepted by one of the Ace's players who tore into the zone and roofed the puck under the crossbar for the game winner and a crowd eruption. Final Aces 3, Rebels, 2 OT
Bantams saw the Western Capitals face the Tour Rebels in a game which had the Rebels jump out to a quick lead and the Caps not able to catch them. It was 3 - 1 after one period and the Rebels finished off the Caps 5 - 2. Look for the Caps to play solid in the gold division at San Jose.
Midget/junior had the Las Vegas Rebels again show their dominance as they beat Star City handily in the game. Led by the goaltending of Mike NiCastro, the Rebels were unstoppable. Max NiCastro, Red Wing draft pick, showed ush how much fun he has while playing and still contributing.
In our Men's platinum it was the Rebels once again against the LA Pama Chupacabraz. The Rebels came out of the gate running and never looked back in this game. When the dust settled, the Rebels had won three of four divisions and showed us at NARCh that they are for real.
With the finals less than 12 days away, I look forward to seeing everyone, catching up and watching some great hockey games that always happen at the NARCh finals. San Jose will be here before you know it...
The countdown begins for the world's greatest roller hockey championships!
GET READY!!!!
