Narch visits Colorado Springs

By Mike Vickerman

This is the first time Narch has held a regional at CET Sports Inline Hockey arena in Colorado Springs. It’s a one rink facility with 250 stadium seating, and by far one of the nicest, rinks we have been in.

It’s Friday afternoon and we just crowned our first Champions of the tournament in the squirt division.

The Littleton Flames found themselves at the top of this four team division, with the Stallions in second place just three points behind. The stallions are actually a Atom team playing up a division to get ready for the Narch Finals in San Jose which is a little over a month away.

The Lightning/Panthers actually tied the Stallions with six points but since they lost to the Stallions in round robin play that placed them in the third place seed.

In the championship game Sebastion Elrod notched a goal for the Stallions, then Trevor Zimmer from the Flames put it away to tie it up and that’s how the first period would end. In the Second Danica Ochoa the Divisions top scorer put the Flames up by one and would have 2 more goals in the period to secure Gold for the Flames.

I would like to congratulate Danica Ochoa the Top Scorer and Syd Dahl the Top Goalie in this division. For the first time that I know of, two female players took the honors and represented well.
