It was an incredible weekend of NARCh Hockey at newly renovated Irvine Inline. As always, Eddie and his staff were super friendly and helpful to all, making the Irvine Facility the best destination in So Cal for our monster regional qualifier. As predicted the Mite Silver final couldn’t get any closer. The game remained scoreless until the 2:28 mark in the first. That’s when Jojo Berni from the Ducks dangled around two defenseman and got off a great shot. Momentum goalie Carson Dahl made an amazing save, but number 71 Simon Duda was right there for the rebound and sniped it top shelf. Yesterday was an incredible day of hockey. I found myself jumping from rink to rink, trying to catch the highlights of each close game. Since this is such a large event and there’s so much happening at once, I’ll recap the divisions that ended yesterday. Cardinals baseball, Blues playoff hockey, hail, and tornados can’t slow the momentum of this tourney down at all. The Blast 2001 went untouched through the Mite division and will play the younger 2002 team in the Gold final tomorrow. The Momentum will play the ducks for the Silver final, and while the Ducks beat the Momentum eight to five in the round robin play, it was a much closer game than the board tells.
