Action from Irvine Inline on April 26th-27th.
There were only 2 teams in the Atom final and even though the Tour Blast was the more dominate team, the All Stars never gave up. The Blast was lead by Top Scorer number 5 Mason Christopher with 4 goals and 2 assists in round robin play, and Top Goalie number 28 Karch Kraemer who faced 35 shots, 32 saves which totaled a .91 save percent average. That didn’t matter to the All Stars who came out every game and gave it everything they had. In the final it looked as if we might have an upset as I
We’re into our first set of games on this beautiful Saturday Morning from Irvine Inline. The rinks are nice and dry and I’m sure it’s going to be a phenomenal day of hockey. We have playoffs and championships throughout the day, so I’d figure I would get a few words in now because I probably won’t have time later. Many people are asking when they’ll know what division they’ll play in for the FINALS. Typically we have the seeds up within 3-4 days, so by the end of next week
Friday April 27 2012 Irvine, CA I haven’t been back to Irvine since the Give Blood Play Hockey Tournament; even then the Anaheim Ducks were just taking over. Now, the rink is awesome and with new paint, locker rooms fixed up, banners galore. Irvine, previously 949 Roller Hockey Center, has transformed into a beautiful venue. It is one of 3 inline facilities that the Ducks own and operate. I drove down to Irvine last night so I was not able to be in Irvine early enough to help out with T
We’re right around 80 games in already and the hockey has matched the atmosphere here in Irvine, both have been fantastic. It was also perfect California weather today, not too hot and the sun was out and it’s cooled down now that the sun has dropped. Most of the action so far has been in the squirt and peewee division, with both already done with the prelims and their playoffs and championships will wrap up tomorrow. Midgets have also played 2 games, but most other divisions are only
First time to St. Louis and very impressed with the rink, staff, and talent. It’s nice to see the people here at All American Sports Arena so dedicated to the sport of hockey. From the minute I got here Quincy (the main handyman here) was getting the banners up, changing light bulbs on the scoreboard, and making sure the rink was in order before the tournament really gets kicken. 27 teams will be battling it out this weekend, which should make for another exciting regional. There have only be
The largest regional qualifier of the year, and actually the largest ever, has started here in Irvine. 107 teams are competing, which is basically the size of two very large regional qualifiers. This is why we had to start on Thursday, there’s just no other way to fit into the 250 games needed. We were at least able to avoid the out-of-town teams starting tonight, but they’ll be in play bright and early in the morning. I haven’t been to this facility since the Ducks became invol
